What is the importance of Wi-Fi in our daily lives?


New technologies paved the way for multi-functional devices like the smartwatch and smartphone. Computers are frequently faster, smaller, and more powerful than ever before. Surprisingly, the term Wi-Fi was originally used to promote and support interoperability between different wireless LAN systems rather than the technology itself. Wi-Fi was never a shortened version of wireless fidelity; it was simply a play on the word hi-fi (high fidelity), a tribute to high-quality audio technology.

As the technology progressed beyond 802.11b and became more prevalent on millions of different devices, the term Wi-Fi came to refer to general wireless LAN technology rather than interoperability certification.
