BOND WITH PRIDE

June - August 2007

An empowerment programme organized by PRIDE Foundation, Bond with PRIDE aims to provide breast cancer patients with the avenue to find support and comfort in their journey towards healing through a day of pampering at the spa.

Through Bond with PRIDE, PRIDE hopes to restore the self-confidence of breast cancer patients and to reassure them that they are not alone in their fight to overcome breast cancer. We would like to inspire breast cancer patients with the important message that, yes, there is life after breast cancer! The programme also seeks to raise awareness and empathy on breast cancer issues such as beauty and body-image.

Subsequently, it is PRIDE’s hope that all participants in this programme will benefit greatly from the bonding and sharing of experiences. In addition, the special moments and stories of the participants captured in the Bond with PRIDE book will offer hope and inspiration to other breast cancer patients and survivors, as well as those who care about them.

Bond with PRIDE is scheduled to kick off in mid-June with a High Tea Launch attended by Her Royal Highness The Queen, and will be ongoing for the duration of two months in the Klang Valley.

A total of 100 breast cancer patients from four major hospitals will be selected to participate in the programme. These patients will be sponsored by individuals comprising of women socialites and corporate leaders, who will also be accompanying them at the spa to enjoy a host of body therapies. In addition, during the programme, participants can attend empowerment workshops organized by PRIDE on topics such as wellness, beauty, sexuality, financial planning and personal health insurance.

The programme will also include a closing event, where the Bond with PRIDE book will be launched. Proceeds from the sale of the books will be channelled to PRIDE.
