CLIMB WITH PRIDE-BUKIT GASINGBreast cancer survivors gather at Bukit Gasing for A Climb with PRIDE! Breast cancer survivors, families and friends took part in the Climb with PRIDE-Bukit Gasing on 19 November 2006. It was an effort to celebrate and honour those who have found the courage, spirit and determination to defy all odds in the fight against breast cancer.
"Climbing a mountain is symbolic of the long and difficult journey one goes through in fighting breast cancer. It is taken one step at a time. The climb at Bukit Gasing is a great way for breast cancer survivors to get together, make new friends and celebrate life after cancer," said Datin Azrene Abdullah, Chairman of PRIDE, who was present at the climb. The moderately easy walk started at the playground near the main entrance and participants were taken on a trail through the lush jungles of Bukit Gasing.
"It's a terrific atmosphere here at Bukit Gasing today. It's wonderful to see so many breast cancer survivors and supporters come together for a single cause," said Rene'e Aziz Ahmad, team leader of the Aconcagua Expedition.
In addition to promoting breast cancer awareness, The Climb with PRIDE-Bukit Gasing is one of PRIDE's initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle and foster camaraderie amongst breast cancer survivors. The climb was sponsored by Sime UEP, Eau Claire and CoreZone, and is supported by the Friends of Bukit Gasing.

The fun-filled hiking session was also a call for all breast cancer sufferers and survivors to get excited about life. 
About 100 participants joined the climb, including the Climb with PRIDE-Aconcagua expedition team, which is led by Rene'e Aziz Ahmad. Rene'e, a breast cancer survivor, shared her story on her personal journey overcoming breast cancer as well as her upcoming 26-day trekking adventure at Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the western and southern hemispheres. 
Climb with PRIDE-Bukit Gasing was also joined by Miss Malaysia-World 2006 Adeline Choo, one of PRIDE's ambassadors. She was delighted to be doing her part in promoting breast cancer awareness.
